Blow pipe?

Hi all

After taking car in for repair of long standing gear oil leak issue I gave on my d3 manual 2005

Came back with a non leak related problem, being there’s a hole in the blow pipe. Which certainly needs sorting out

Was told it would be estimated £3000 job to do both. With the top half of the car removing etc

Does this sound like a competitive rate please?

I’m technically minded and have some ability but bad temperament and patience under a bonnet. So ideally wanting to avoid trying myself. Have researched and seen it involves potentially snapping bolts and a big casing etc.

I think so yes

He said something was blowing as there was a hole in the right side I think

Must be near the gearbox as it was found when looking for a gear oil leak as far as I understand

Was told it’s 1500 just to take the body off plus parts

Maybe too vague info to confirm an average price maybe I should ask what the part is that’s broke and come back to this thread? Disco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7

Exhaust Cross over pipe I guess

Can be done with the gearbox out I think.
Dunno what the recommended way is.
