Couple of front shock questions please |
|
Hi all,
Have searched but no luck on a couple of questions, so thought I’d ask the experts:
1. Which front strut should I get? AF have Dunlop and OEM with only £12 difference so not sure which is better🤷♂️
2. Do I need to replace as a pair?
Thanks as always 👍

Pairs is advisable, but not essential
What is the original brand (I see on some sites saying BWI and other saying Dunlop)?

I looked into this a while (few years or so…) ago.
My D3 has original air struts and they’re Delphi. Internet forum rumors have it that Delphi did not manufacture them originally but slapped their own sticker on them. In business school this is called adding value.
I also do know that if you order a genuine you’d get a Dunlop today.
Hope this helps.

But for sure it was NOT Dunlop who supplied JLR…for the D3/4…
As far as i know is BWI the supplier of JLR now..
I once used Dunlops on my D2…. Wish i hadn’t…
Within 1,5 year use they did blow, on the german autobahn hitting a bump, when the D2 was heavy loaded, but within max payload…. Not something i like to experience ever agian… Best regards

BWI (Beijing West Industries) acquired the part of Delphi that made suspension and brake related things around 12 years ago.

Good to know, I will be looking for some BWI's then without the genuine price sticker slammed onto it.
