I previously posted about this problem but then found some people have had exactly the same problem on the LR3. Look here:

It looks light the brake light switch wears and shorts so it needs inspection and change most likely.
BUT - how do you get the panel off to access it?
The panel in question is the sloping panel under the steering wheel going down to the pedals and some say it just needs pulling out at the top but with my luck, and given it is plastic, I will break it.
Anyone done this please?

pull it hard downwards - it only clips in - its pretty thick and tough so youre unlikely to break it.
The little clips often go flying when it pops out so keep an eye out for them. 2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey
