Excitement and apprehension

Well, after a couple of weeks of lurking on the board I have signed up.

I pick up my new 06 SE tomorrow morning and must admit I am filled with excitement (because it seems such a great car) and apprehension (because I can't help wondering whether I will get it home before a fault occurs).

I have perused the on-line manuals - it all seems failry straightforward if a lot to take in in one go. However, do you have any top tips for what to do with the car in the first 48 hours of ownership.

Welcome. The first thing is to make sure the dealer shows you how it all works, including the sat nav and voice control if you have it. Make sure that when you give a voice command, it speaks back to you in an English Female voice, if it does not, then its set wrong.

Make sure you are shown the settings menu, and told how to set the car features to your liking.

Drive it lots in the first 48 hours, and ignore the fuel consumption, it gets better, especially in the summer!

Get used to brushing your teeth more, because you will not stop smiling!
