When I try the unjam procedure from the IID tool I get error 'E3 failed'
LR4 TDV6 2011 42K miles
Any idea why? I have probably used the EPB five times in its entire life..

Use it or lose it, as they say...
Not using it causes more issues than using it. Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

That’s your problem lack of use, like most things if you don’t use it you’ll lose it. Mine is set to come on automatically when the engine is switched off, same on my old D3 18 years and never had a problem although well maintained and never needed new shoes It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Is it stuck on or not working? Could it just need the drums and shoes cleaning and adjusting.

Hey M3PDO
How do you set so that that the EPB it comes on automatically when the engine is switched off? (I've got a IID Tool BT - is that what you need?) I never use mine unless I park on a slope - don't want it to seize on me either.
Cheers

not using parking brake and leaving the car on even slight slope held by gearbox only damages gearbox as well so be careful as D4 is awesome in good hands fails very quick in reckless ones

How did you program your EPB to come on automatically when you turn off the engine?

Yes!- not relevant but you can also change the sequence of the central locking to make it the same as a D3 if you prefer, i.e. super locks on first click not second. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
