Disco No:6
First off a big thanks to those who offered assistance and stops en-route, thankfully not needed and the new bus is back at home.
Spent the day today putting together a list of jobs to do (ever growing) and sorting a few easy fixes while I was at it.
So now some pictures.. she's an 07 plate SE manual with 135k on the clock. the seller handed over a full folder of receipts (EGR Delete already done) and looking round her I knew that she'd never been off road and probably not often left London looking at the lack of corrosion.
Completely original, even down the marks on the back of the lights (don't think they've ever been out before today!).
Cat guard and rear mat installed, side lights changed to LED bulbs, wd40'd the rear tailgate and sorted out the position switches for the interior lights (all LED already). Light locks installed and the covering of feathers removed from the radiator (London car ). Was going to swap the wheels over but the bloody nuts are swollen so ordered a new set of solid ones... no idea when they will arrive
Fluids checked and topped up, replaced front wipers and ordered a new rear, and put my sticker in !
So the update list not in order... LED rear lights, mud flaps, Fixed towbar (came with a detachable but lock is busted so will go up on here), rock sliders, phone connection of some type (can't believe that an SE with memory heated seats doesn't have a phone connection!), replace front fogs (misted up) with DRL type LED, full service and check by DM (probably need to book for April now ).
But all in all so far very pleased... I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Welcome back to the spending zone, but to paraphrase a certain film, you’re gonna need a bigger calculator!!!!

Very nice.
I still prefer the D3 leather seats over the D4, if it were only easily possible to swap them over ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

Thanks guys, I have set of 18s sat next to the car but can’t get the bloody wheel nuts off... when the new nuts arrive they will be fitted the same day...
The current tyres are shot (the seller and I have very different views on what constitutes “good tread”) and the 20inch rims currently on will be up for grabs...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Just trying to be like you
Never thought about that but I guess 07 was a popular year… if something in mine breaks I can sneak round and “borrow” it from yours 😂I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Thanks mate, hope you’re having a good day today? As for tyres… anything but what’s on there now! it’s on Goodyears but at 255/55/20 they are too high and also worn down to about 2mm so not fun driving back in heavy rain. I’ve bought some 18 inch wheels with really good winter tread so will see how they go but really wanting to put some AT3s on once I have sorted out the rest of the car.
Slow to start this morning (1 degree) and the FBH didn’t seem to kick in some a remote timer will also go on the list…(ever growing) I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Hi buddy
Oh wow they are seriously low , nothing like getting ur monies worth, lol
Found there’s such a wide range of prices, best I’ve seen the Wildpeak are around £130 a corner which think is very good
Funny enough got one of these remotes a few weeks back, alas have seriously gone up in price
Is "cat guard" for your monster felines or a precious metal theft protection device?.

My equivalent of the “dog guard”… stops one of my little monsters joining me on the front seat when driving… unfortunately he loves the car, if I’ve left a door open I have to check he’s not in there before locking it…

These front ones might be available soon was thinking of swapping for RRS front seats which I find far more comfortable. As it would be a straight swap (electric heated memory on both) I’m hoping even I can manage it I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
