Little black box
Does anyone know what this little black box is on the front screen just to the left of the mirror is? It has ETC and the land rover logo on it.

I raised the same query on a little black box at the top of my windscreen.
But mine was to the right of the mirror, and wiring appears to go into the headlining.
Yours looks a bit different and doesn’t look as if it has wiring?
Mine is a humidity sensor. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Thanks Ron. I think it is a humidity sensor, after reading through the replies on your link. I've just pilled back the roof lining a little bit and yes there is a wire there.
Cheers Blake

Humidity sensor is normally to the right of the mirror and built into the plastic part around the mirror (as per the photos at the end of this post).. .that's not to say LR didn't change the location for no good reason whatsoever

I've just looked at those photos, my box is only spprox 15mm wide with a single black wire sheath approx 2mm diam. So now I don't think it is a humidity sensor. Could it be part of the alarm system? Obviously its not standard in UK models.
Vehicle is in New Zealand, it was imported from Japan approx 6 yesrs ago. Here in NZ we have alot of 2nd hand cars imported from Japan, which were due to be crushed after 10 years of use. Mine was imported with 94000km on the odometer. I've now got it up to 152000km so plenty of life left in it yet. Oddly enough Japan is RHD, same as NZ, Oz and UK.
Maybe the little box has something to do with Japan TV reception, TV is not formatted for NZ channels.??

It’s behind the grille, not inside behind the windscreen

The hires picture shows the letters ETC. Because Japan, this means electronic toll collection. Mystery solved.

Thanks mate. That's what it is, I've always wondered what ETC stood for. Thankfully we don't have that system in NZ. The reason I was asking is that my screen has 2 large stone chips. Its the original screen with the Land rover logo on it. The guy at the screen replacement shops says they just snip the wires. I just wanted to make sure he is not removing something that is essential.
