Engine fault and fuel gauge not working |
|
I've had an engine check light on for a couple of months and land Rover think there may be a leak in the evaporative recirculation system.
The problem is that they say in order to run the test it has to have between 15 and 85 percent fuel in the tank. However my fuel gauge shows maximum constantly (no electrical faults logged) even when totally empty...
This all seemed to start around the time when I had the fuel pump replaced by an independent mechanic...could it be connected? Any other ideas? Is the fuel gauge running from a float valve and could that have just happened to go at the same time?

Also I've had the LPG system temporarily disabled comprising closing the Valve from the lpg tank and removing its fuse. Could that be the reason why the fuel gauge shows maximum?
