Using thread sealant
Hi everyone,
Just a quick one regarding changing the diff oil in a disco 3. Some people will say to use thread sealant on the drain plugs, whereas others don’t bother. What would everyone recommend? If so, what thread seal should I be using?
Thanks and Happy New Year!

A wee length of PTFE tape wouldn't hurt and it might even help to prevent seized plug syndrome. Never really felt the need myself and never had a dribble.D1 300Tdi - gone

No need. Of course you can change the plug to a new one, too…

I believe the fill plug has a slight taper so will pull up tight without anything. I have never used anything and I change the oil every 12 months.
