Inner track rods?

My lovely blue D3 failed its inspection with “play in inner track rods” (translated). Besides getting new inner track rods for both sides is there anything else I’d want to change at the same time? I do know it need an alignment after.

Are there differences in track rods? Meyle-HD? Something else?

Appreciate any input and thoughts Thumbs Up

Probably would do the anti roll bar links at the same time.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you mean the front stabilizer links? [1]

I did them about 3 years ago and used Meyle HD then. Visually they look fine and there are no funky noises.

If you've already changed them then they will be fine. Thumbs Up

You can buy the inner rods as part of the kit with the track rod ends for not a lot more money, if your getting it aligned it would be worth doing the ends as well at the same time

Yes, the outers would make sense to do at the same time.

(Nothing against island 4x4, advanced factors ships using Incoterms DAP so it is very handy as customs/levies are pre-paid at shipping time and packages clear customs immediately).

Found this tool useful when I did mine. Makes it reassuringly easy to undo and tighten. Slides over the rod end with the outer ball joint not fitted.
