CODE B11FF-84

Yesterday I had a smell of what I thought was air con gas. It only lasted for a few seconds then all good again. This morning I thought I would check for any new codes and got this. Does this indicate a leek in the air con within the cab?

Almost certainly a leak but could be anywhere in the system !

Hi, thanks for the reply. I thought as much but the smell in the cab made me think it could be internal fittings. Not sure how/where the air con fitting/pipe are behind the dash. I hope it's not a dash out job.

from workshop man

B11FF84
A/C Refrigerant
Pressure - Signal
below allowable range

Insufficient refrigerant insystem
Refrigerant pressure sensor failure
Automatic temperature control module internal failure

Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system,
datalogger test and review Climate control system /
Air conditioning / External ambient temperature. If
the external ambient temperature is <5> 5°C, test the
refrigerant system using a suitable charging station
I
nstall a new refrigerant pressure sensor as necessary
Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system,
clear the DTCs and retest. If the fault persists,
install a new automatic temperature control module

i do not think this is cabin side issue
i would check for leak at air con valves in engine bay

just to let you know my d3 had this code and it was triggered by a really cold weather snap,i think it was on the edge of needing a service and the cold just took it to the threshold that pinged the code i had never had the a/c serviced so had it recharged and its been fine for about 3 yrs now

wouldn't think its a leak just needs a recharge
 please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

Thank you, On the day I got the code I was on a 500 mile journey that took me through, fog, freezing rain, snow and -8 C. So I might have it serviced first then, because it was working just fine in August.

That would not account for the smell !! The engine and cabin side is a complete loop so no such things as cabin side from that point of view . Take it to somebody who knows what they are doing ,there are a lot of cowboys out there. Get it looked at very soon as moisture will contaminate the system if a large leak has developed.
