ECU updates - GAP
Hi All,
Looking on GAP there are a few modules that show as having updates available, should I go ahead and do these or are there any issues ? Especially as one is for the Engine ECU and one is the transmission ECU…. Thanks 🙏

I hear that the auto ECU is worth updating, if you email GAP they will recommend what to update and what to leave alone.

“I hear” …….. without a source……….. should not give me any confidence tbh
My best bet is that if Flack gives an advice, follow it….
And you can email GAP ofcourse, who will give you the exact same advice as Aja4x4 and Flack…
It is even writen in their manual….. flashing ecu’s is always some sort of risk……..Best regards
Harold

GAP themselves say the trans update fixes some issues so i would listen to them.

The update for the engine is not necessary, and you would be best as others have said to leave well enough alone.
The only exception I can think of is if you intended to fit an EGR patch, in which case the ECM will need updating before loading the patch file. Though Pete at BAS would confirm this for you at point of purchase.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
