I am surprised that a search yields no results for any DIY motor mount replacement. True to the saying, my Land Rover has made a mechanic of me, and I've tackled quite a few projects on my vehicle - from control arms to window regulators.
My motor mount(s) are no good and need replacing. I'm wondering if the lack of resources is because it's a job better left to a shop (e.g., better to have an engine hoist than use a jack to push it up)?
Has anybody on this forum tackled the job or have advice/suggestions.

yup they goosed
Not done the job myself on the disco but they normally pretty straight forward with a trolley jack and a lump of wood. Have you checked the g/box mounts as well ?

No have not checked the gearbox mounts (recently), but it would be good to inspect based on the state of motor mounts.
My smoking gun for the motor mounts was when the top radiator hose worked loose. That's another story with the original radiator from 2005 and breaking the brittle plastic neck connection piece when re-attaching.

Any tips appreciated! Like which extra bolts or carriers to buy along with the actual motor mounts. If I go the DIY route, I'll take photos and contribute back.

Do you have a copy of the shop manual? You can find it as a download in the forums, I believe. I got mine elsewhere (cannot remember where).
Engine mounts are covered in Section 12.45.11 and 12.45.12, for the 4.4L it looks fairly involved compared to other vehicles. Such is par for Land Rover…
Remove the wheels. Remove the heat shields (this isn’t fun, but is doable). Disconnect the height sensor arm. Remove stabilizer bar link nut. Loosen upper retaining arm nut. Release the upper ball joint (discard the retaining nut). Release the brake hose from the upper arm. Support the engine. Raise the engine, remove nut (from mount). Remove mount and discard the two bolts. Installation is opposite of removal.
Torque values:
Front mount bolts: 45 Nm + 60*
Front mount nut 90 Nm
Brake hose to upper arm: 23 Nm
Upper ball joint nut: 70 Nm
Stabilizer link nut: 115 Nm 2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8
