relocating second battery box electrics in a 2016 D4
Thought I'd post this in there correct section, as apposed to the 'My D4 bit'.
got a bit of time running cables for the split charge system I took out of the D3, having already swapped the panel over in the boot.
In the RHS battery box I have the usual bits which I was about to start relocating but also have what I presume is the stop/start battery in there - which is a much larger object to relocate. sp the job has just got considerably more complex (I think!)
(Mine is a 2016)
is it best to leave alone and try and get the battery into the rear LHS boot cubby? or am I missing an easy relocation space somewhere??
Thanks formerly Disco3Ben

Yep that's the Stop/Start battery.
A daft name for it really, should be called the backup battery as all it does is run the systems whilst the engine is stopped, it doesn't actually restart the engine.
Anyway I'm interested in this as I was thinking about another battery but sort of gave up short term when I saw how full that compartment was compared to my D3.
My thought was to replace the 'backup battery' with something much larger that I could use like a second battery as well as the reason LR put it there.
Has anyone tried that?
NasherHeaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

Prospeed do a battery bracket for the rear storage area. I'm waiting for them to come back in to stock. Traxide also do a cable set for adding a second battery back there, I have one, but am waiting for the battery bracket to fit.

I’m looking at making my own battery bracket/tray to fit in the rear cubby box. I fed my cable through the usual grommet then through the dash. Not the easiest route but doable. Then under the sills in the cable channel to the rear.D4 MY15 SE TECH
D3 gone but never forgotten.

once through the grommet above the pedals did you then go down the passenger side Andy?
I've already got the panel made for the drivers side so I need the cable over there any way.
Just a question of figuring out where to put this battery.formerly Disco3Ben

Hi Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm about to do the same in my D4 (aux battery in rear passenger side cubby). Andy Foster- Do you have any pictures of how you finally secured the battery in place?
Also, any tips on getting the rear panel off would be appreciated.
Cheers, Steve
