Why Does FBH Work Perfectly Except For WBus? [Fixed]

Another D3 FBH mystery.

1. FBH works absolutely perfectly in fully automatic mode.
2. Also works perfectly when diagnosing using the WTT software (tested with no faults) and shop diagnostic loom.
3. However, does not work as a Park Heater in response to a WBUS command from a modified Webasto 1533 timer (operated by GSM).

When the 1533 timer is triggered (by a GSM module or directly on the timer) the FBH fan starts but after 30 seconds or so, everything stops. No ignition.

Last winter the FBH was stripped, serviced and a new burner/glow plug assembly was fitted (Part number LR010329). The FBH operated as a Park Heater without any problems.

I am stumped as to why the FBH is working except as a Park Heater and grateful for any suggestions.

Read the 1533 instructions very carefully as if you press one wrong button the thing will actually be in vent mode (and stay in vent mode) rather than heat mode, not that I have ever done this you understand!
I think it tries to start in vent mode, but as D3 does not support vent mode the fbh sulks and switches off.

I have also found sometimes it will not start on the timer position 1, but will start at the same time just fine using timer 2 and 3.

Thanks for the responses.

Battery
I'll check, but think battery is OK. D3 is normally plugged into a CTEK trickle charger (through the towbar electrics socket) and I have a bluetooth battery monitor connected to the battery and reporting to an app on my phone ("Battery Monitor BM2" by Dacheng). Not noticed anything untoward.

1533 timer
I'll check this too, thanks, but have never used the timer manually or on timer (except for diagnostics), since installation in 2014. Timer is modified for remote control and should be on factory defaults. I just use it via the GSM module. It is all buried behind an additional battery in the second battery box.

When i have my tailgate or a door open for instance…. I have the same startup issues with an Altox over W-bus.
Closing them and it works a treat….

So it is possible that a LR ecu somewere gives a signal to cut out..
The software in the Webasto in a D3 IS different than a universal webast ttv..

It also does not work with a webasto T90 T100 W-bus remote somehow, even it is switched through a 1533 clock.. Shocked

So try it with every door closed
 Best regards
Harold

Using IIDTool:

- My IIDTool would not connect to the FBH to check operation ("Operation failed E7")
- Scanning the ECU raised two faults:

Quote:
Airbag

U0073-88 (2C) Unknown
( at 245466 km )

Body Control

B1B70-81 (28 ) Local interconnection network bus circuit 2 - Bus signal/message failure - invalid serial data received
( at 245480 km )

- Cleared the faults
- Did a vehicle reset

Result! IIDTool connected to FBH and check operation completed successfully. Parking heater via WBUS restored. Many thanks to all Thumbs Up
