Tdv6 throttle hanging. Won't drop |
|
Hi folks.
Not easy for a foregner with limited Oxford-training to write a meaningfull threadnane.
Symotoms: When I let of the throttle, it takes a couple of seconds before the engine slow down. If I quickly tap the pedal - same thing. Some seconds delay on about 2000rpm. Not in neutral.
I've found several threads in several forums - not only LR suffering from this litle Gremlin.
But so far - I have not found any thread ending with a final sollution.
Many suggestions out there:
Throttlebody
EGR
All kind of sensors
Mapping
Converter
Pedal-pot
HPFP
Injectors
In short - everything.
But as far as I can see - no one said: I've got it. I can reproduce the failure. I had the failure - swaped the blipblopsensor - failure gone. Did put back the defekt sensor - failure back.
Anyone out there who knows?

could be any of those, plus others.
You need the codes read if there are any. Also live values would help.
You also need to add your vehicle details to your profile D3 or D4 - auto / manual ?

D3, 2008, Auto, no DPF (vin 148) No codes.
Live data is next.
Yes, I know It can be "all of it" or "one of it" or something completely different.
As a Norwegian oldie my English is restricted and sometimes out of tune, so just to clear out.
My point is: The more I read, the less I understand about the issue.
A lot of people "just live with it".
Many experience it after a remap.
Some dealer and experts say it is normal.
The latter is not true, because it is random, and first time we discovered it was after a 2000 km long journey home after buying the car. Wouldn't bought it if the issue was there.
Fault finding is an interesting task, and I love it so I look forward try to figure it out. At this point, I'm not asking for maybees or maybeenots. You need much, much more datas from me, and when I have more data to discuss, I'll come back.
Question is: If someone out there allready know for sure one or more ways to solve it, and maybe are able to reproduce the fault, or better still - move the fault between different cars, I can spare some time to the next breakdown.
