Hi All,
Fairly new to the site,
Many years ago I had an early (H reg) 1st generation Disco 3 door and had plenty of fun with it even after having to change the gearbox.
I'm now looking for a Disco 4 (around 2012) and wondered if anyone had any tips on what to look for?
Regards
Lee

Definitely go for one with the 8 speed gearbox, (rotary dial), service history (as much as possible) with arms changed and cambelt several times at that age, and rear brake pipes done as well (they corrode around that age) if you can... they do come up on here every now and then...
Good hunting, there are several others looking for around the same year/spec ! I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Hi
I’m in the same boat, looking at the same age.
What does “ with arms changed” mean. Which arms?
And the one I’m looking at has got corroded brake pipes, does anyone know if this is a costly job, and worth arguing about?

Front suspension arms (and rear), actually the bushes that go but as cheap to replace the whole arm. They should have been done at least once by that age (fronts probably twice). No idea on the cost of getting the brake pipes done as all of D3/4s I’ve owned have either had it done or been new enough not to need it… but no doubt someone will be along that’s had it done recently I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... i had my cambelts changed at LR Main dealer, then when it had to go back 2 days later with an issue with the HPFP belt they took the body off.
they offered to do the front & rear flexi brake pipes for £75 as it was easier with the body off. 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten
