EGR - Blank or Replace..? |
|
Happy New Year..!!
I have a warning light which is apparently the EGR valves. I'm not experiencing any performance issues but the car failed the MOT (warning light) so I need to get this sorted.
Is it best to get them replaced or blanked?
Is it cheaper to get them replaced or blanked?
Is there anyone on the site these days like Iain (10forCash) that can travel and do this type of work..?

on you year of car, just blanking them is likely to still leave the light on

Blank them and get the ecu updated (will remove error lights)
They’ll go again at some point, and trust me, when you take one off and see the amount of soot that they’re feeding into your engine you’ll regret not doing it a long time ago.
Most car tuning places will delete the egr from the ecu, physically blanking takes less than an hour on the driveway. 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey
