MOT time, Rolling road to test brakes ?
Booked my D4 in for MOT at a new garage. Asked if they test the brakes on the road or on the rolling road. MOT man says no need to test on the road as they now use the rolling road as not possible to test hand brake on the road, must be on the rolling road. It was always tested on the road previously. What do you think, is it ok to use the rolling road ? I always thought not to use rolling road to test 4x4 brakes.

It was the case a few years ago that 4x4`s had to be tested on the road with a Tapley meter as the rolling road could cause transmission damage. That is no longer the case as modern roller testers can test a 4x4 nowadays as they have the ability to have the rollers turn in opposite directions to ensure that there is no transmission wind up. You should be fine!
