New Altox app
I downloaded the new Altox app today,had to go through the registration and settings process again. I can see this causing some problems for some.The new app is an improvement, you can now see your balance on the screen.

I just followed the prompts and by some miracle it worked.At first I got a no internet connection error and as I was about to start messing with settings, it asked for the device id and all came good.

Before you start,text SETTINGS2 to your Altox,you should get a reply with the device I.D and other information which you will then have should anything go wrong.There is also some info on the old app which you can note beforehand.

Hi Andy,
question on your giffgaff SIM in the Altox. I installed mine a couple of weeks ago and I'm using SMS with the app and don't get all these features...and they look cool
I see you are on giffgaff - what SIM plan do you use to get all the extra GPS features?

These features were there also in the “old” app… If you use the app….
You can also intall the new app, next to the old app.
Although i did not check if the old one does still connects to the Altox unit, after re registering in the new one. I could read and copy all the needed info…
Was rather straightforward, just follow the new app… re register, will give you a new password, use that data, most other data will be copied, just write down the sim phonenumber before you start..

It’s some time ago but as far as I can remember I ordered a free sim and then topped it up with a five pound goody bag which had data and texts.That’s probably all changed by now.
There are different versions of the Altox, some only do sms.
Look here at the various versions.
