I bought a roof rack garage, roof winch and adapted it for my roof tent, it has four ropes for each corner, I got some U shaped sadles with a flat plate's on them, these slide in the roof tent mounting slots.
I needed to extend the centre tube and also replace the rope as it was not long enough to fit the size of my tent, I just wind it down to waste height unhook one side and then the other, then fit it. Its been going for the last 6 years..
If I could get my car in the garage it would drop right in place, but not enough height .

Hard shell or soft shell roof tent?
What is roof space/structure like?
Do you have cats?
Pulley systems are available, Autohome does one. Need a good mounting point and about 3+ feet clearance. Can be left suspend but may block out your current light system. If left suspended tie the tent off so it will not spin whilst suspended.
Can be stored for easy of movements on some mobile dollies either vertical or horizontal. If vertical tie it back to something solid so can not topple over.
Cats? Good at keeping mouse population down. They have been know to nibble away at tents and make a mess of the tent, a soft shell tent would be more at risk.
