How to disable the screens in midnights |
|
I quite enjoy using my D4 as a camper and it is amazing experience sleeping in the car overnight especially during the summer time. However, the 3 screens (1 at dashboard, 2 on the front seat back - HSE luxury edition) always automatically switch on to show the LR greeting AV every time when I open the door for toilet over the night. They are too shining in the darkness, which is very annoying. Any body can suggest how to disable the annoying screens over the night? I tried many times to reset but failed. appreciate!

You can leave one of the doors “off the latch” slightly open, that’ll do it, but the draft on a cold night may not be worth it
I’ve got a set of black curtains that I suspend between the a pillars cutting off the front of the car (and the view in through the windscreen), that might work for you?
A more tech approach would be to drop a switch in line with the power to the rear screens so you can disable when your sleeping in the car. 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

A switch and fuse instead of the fuse sounds sensible.

My rear screens don’t come on until I switch them on, I have them switched off permanently as I just don’t use them! HSE Luxury- they must be a different version.
I am sure the brightness can be adjusted in the settings menu for the front screen It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

thank you guys for your suggestions. It is generally worthy spending a whole evening to learn the manual of the back entertainment system to switch the screen off. I will do it.
