Diesel Leak - HPFP

Hi all got the disco up on a ramp today and there is diesel leaking somwhere. Thought it might be an injector return pipe but they are all dry. However the HPFP is wet with diesel to perhaps a fitting onto the pump is leaking. Need to take a look tomorrow when its light, wondering if anyone knows of the most likely issue.

Thanks.

The pumps can leak if the bearings are worn and has been know to catch a light if ignored

Thanks Andrew, I am hoping it’s one of the pipes leaking as it seems to be damp with diesel on the front of the pump as you look at it from the front of the disco. If it were the shaft seal then I assume it would leak into the belt cover and then down the back of the engine. Will see tomorrow.

Yes thats correct, there is also a fuel cooler on the top of the oil cooler that may be leaking and running to the back of the engine.

So definately fuel weeping here...

Guessing this is the steel pipe that should be replaced with a new one if ever removed so probably hasn't been at some point in the past.
