Can the D3 bumper be left on and just fit D4 wings please
Did search through as many other threads as I could for all the other answers , just could find the above

Different codes for the paint Gary, so it's unlikely they are the same. I think Java is 697 PNF and Santorini 1AG, 820!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Brilliant , many thks, I’ll get the wings sprayed then to Java black so it matches the rest of the car
Know I’ve got a spray compressor but more than likely will work out cheaper to just get a professional body shop to spray them for me , plus the Java black is metallic
Have looked at paints that are pre thinned etc but I assume there 2k, never used them before , plus cheaper buying new wings than second hand ones , well pattern anyway
Don’t know what it would cost these days to get a pair of wings sprayed , £100 ??
Just got to find out about the bumper now, really want to leave the D3 bumper on so my A bar will fit , can see a D4 is flatter on top
Thks again

The Santorini is a different shade of Black to Java - I think it relates to the flake colour in the metallic but if you put the two next to each other they are different.
D4 Wings will fit with a D3 Bumper but there will be a gap between the headlight bottom and the top of the bumper so you will need to fill it with a Strip of something to tidy up the job, or fit a D4 front bumper.
I seem to remember Robbo saying that the trims used on Later D2 front lights could be used to close up the gap between D3 and D4 Lights and wings, as he had a D3 Bodykit on a car with D4 wings and headlights at some point before he removed all of his posts and threw his toys out of his pram.... Must stop buying shiny toys....

Thank u so much , missed that one, think I read around 6 x threads
Ah i see with regards to the bumper , at least I’ll see what it looks like, but alas if I fit a D4 bumper I won’t be able to fit my A bar , unless of course I can modify the bottom angle of the A bar
I just need to keep my A bar in the boot and wait till I see a D4 and ask if I can try it on there,
Many thks as well ref the colour , wonder what’s involved altering the D3 wings to get the pre face lift D4 xenons to fit , unless of course it’s the shape as well , if so I’ll get D4 wings , might be handy actually as I see it has grills both sides, handy for a plug in anderson
Think a new grill is also req by the sounds of it
Will check that thread out, bless u for that , oh, I didn’t see that with regards to threads gone, what was that over then plse, can pm me if u wish plse , lol
Also believe the lights are plug and play , just the ccf changed, do have a gap iid , lights have the fairy drls
Don’t know if they need a switched ign live , unless that’s just for the 4.5 lights
Thks again and very grateful

doubt very much you will get a pair of new wings sanded off primed and then painted for £100 .it will cost the garage you use over £50 in materials .i own a bodyshop and i would be charging £300
2011 D4 XS - OBD port protection, RLD spare wheel protector, All LED interiors lights, Timed Climate enabled, iiD tool paired.
2011 D4 Landmark - Stolen from same dealer before I paid for it
2011 D4 GS - Stolen whilst at dealer ... All LED interiors lights, DRLs, Spare Wheel protector.
1996 300Tdi - Eaten by tin worms

I must change the currency exchange rate from when I got some my triumph vitesse panels sprayed , lol
Many thks , have seen some D4 second hand ones for around £125 each , but alas colour won’t match and there won’t know there paint condition
Suppose the other option I have is to see what mods are required on the D3 wing for the lights to fit
Do have a compressor and seen u can buy pre mixed paints, plse don’t cringe being a professional , must admit shame ur not closer otherwise I would have been more than happy to pay £150 per wing to get them done
See so many paints , ie 2k , cellulose etc plus 1 saying they will premix to a paint code , I have the time and patience that’s for sure but not the knowledge , compressor is only a 50 x litre 11.5 Cfm
Thks again

Yikes, I think I’ll get some D4 wings, found a pair of pattern brand new ones for £140 the pair inc delivery
This is going to sound daft but I wonder if u can spray them using spray cans, all colour coded as well from several companies or is is best to use a spray compressor , mines only a 50 x litre 9.6cfm
Also again company providing all pre thinned , base, colour then clear coat or lacquer
Then of course on what spray gun to buy plse
Thks again as always

they will need the black coating sanding down and etch priming and then fully priming then flatting off before painting be careful using any 2k products without suitable respiratory equipment as the activators contain some nasty ingredients . if you have no experience watch some you tube videos good luck . oh and if you make a mess of it be prepared for any bodyshop you ask to put them right to charge extra to remove everything you have done

Many thks and very helpful, have been looking at this company
Wondering if 1 litre will be enough to do 2 x wings of each product
Used cellulose many moons ago if it was called that some 20 x years back
Thks also for the heads up with regards to 2k , plus thinking if it would be best to use my spray compressor, double checked it’s 9.6 Cfm 50 x litre , did increase the hose to 3/8 , also fitted a dryer
Of course and understand where ur coming from with regards if I mess it up ,
Few piccies , put my compressor in an old speaker box on wheels to make life easier moving it around , fitted some isolating valves as well , so one side is dry for spraying and the other oiler for air guns etc , then added a bottom drain off valve
