I had the front anti roll bar bushes changed recently as I had a knock in the steering. It seems a little less, but I still get a knock when for example I am turning left or right and hit a bump in the road. It feels like there is slack in the steering, could this be the ball joint or rack. I am sure it is not normal and wasn't in the loan cars I have had.

Could well be a ball joint and the symptoms hidden by the steering knock. I assume the knock over bumpy ground driving straight ahead has gone ?
How many miles have you done ?

My 2.5 year old Disco with 17k miles on the clock has a similar knock when I pull off at a roundabout. It's more of a noise than an actual 'feeling' through the steering wheel. I expect that it's all under warranty so I'm not that too concerned - just a bit surprised on a car that's done only 17k. Should I get it done immediately or let it get a bit worse as I have around 18 months of a warranty left and wondered whether I could leave it a few months?

Gents
I had the same problem, it was fixed by replacing the lower steering columb, a known problem with a TSB (I don't know the number, but the dealer did), no problems since, appart from my steering wheen being at a funny angle since and the steeler just cant seem to get it aligned again
