Air Con question
Hi all
Tried to connect my air conditioning manifold gauges to my 2005 D7 TDv6 today to check the pressure in the system and add some refrigerant if necessary, as it's started to blow a bit warm.
Anyhow, I couldn't get the low side quick disconnector to fit ? The high side fitted fine. The low side port is slightly cramped around the heat shield and battery box, but I could see it wasn't fouled anywhere.
Does anyone know if the low side port connector is "non standard" ? The gauges have worked and fitted fine on all the other cars I've used them on.
Thanks

Hi again, further to this I checked the pressure with my IID tool, the system pressure is around 26 psi with the AC off and the engine running, I noticed that switching the AC on does cause the compressor to operate, as the current stays at 0.0 amps
Does anyone know what the under pressure lock out is ? I'm guessing at 26psi I'm right on the border of low pressure. Maybe I have a small leak ?
Thanks

Sounds too low.
It’s a standard valve. That one has a habit of the valve sticking open and failing. Maybe cus of the poor access

Pressure way too low, in the off position the the system pressure should be much higher. Something like 4-500kPa with the system off. After start up with fan on full, it should rise to around 1450kPa or thereabouts and fluctuate thereafter depending on demand.
Refrigerant refill for the TDV6 is 550g for a front only a/c system, and 810g for front/rear a/c.
It's usually the condenser on these that either get punctured from road grit, or they rot out at the bottom from standing debris/water.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
