Which Dashcam & do I do front and back?
Looking to get a dashcam for the car, something discreet, ideally not on the lower dash, any recommendations please and do I do front and rear of car also? Wondered what you lot use please?
Nothing too pricey, thanks.

Has worked faultlessly for the last 3 years, and with the rear camera connected to the reversing lights, it give me a reversing camera on a decent size screen also. Fitted just to the right of the rear view mirror.2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

I have a Viofo A119v3 up front, currently no camera in the back. No complaints, it just works. Picture is very good. Review at https://dashcamtalk.com/viofo-a119-v3/

Journeyman, quality’s pretty good, never going to make the oscars but ample for suing the guy who hits me. It’s got three cameras, front, rear and internal so you just have to make sure your not on the phone while eating your lunch at the time of the accident although it saves the output of the three cameras in separate files so you can “forget” to send the internal one to the insurer
I’ve just dropped some footage on youtube if you want to have a look
If you go for it just check that the one you buys comes with rear camera, some are optional add ons2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Definitely get front and rear. I was attacked by a lunatic with a steel pole last summer in the west highlands! He came at me whilst I was at the rear of the truck and the whole incident was caught on camera including the verbal exchange!
He denied everything, not knowing he was on candid camera....
He was arrested and charged with racially motivated aggravated assault.
Thank god for the camera - for me, it’s well worth the small added expense.

I’d deffinately go for rear as well. The upgrade cost is next to nothing, if the screen is good you get a reversing camera out of it as a bonus.
We had a spate of crash for cash a while back, they’d stop behind you at a junction then hit you, claim you rolled back or some such then claim on your insurance for damage, whiplash, ingrowing toenails basically anything they could. I swear the not on my rear screen has stopped them more than once.

Definitely front and rear.
I have a Blackvue DR430-2CH hard wired into fuse box behind the glove box. The front camera sits behind the rear view mirror so doesn't impede my forward view and the rear camera sits high and center on the rear screen.
Videos are recorded onto a microSD card which can be removed and stored on a PC. There is no screen on the camera so it is small and discrete. Video playback quality is good, number plates easily seen.Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

I had many different dashcams from 2012 onwards. First Chinese stuff.
But i later moved on to much better SHD, now 4k devices.
For our shopping trolley (BMW tourer) I use a Viofo 129a pro duo.
For my F-type I only have a front 4K camera, needs updating I realise now.
In my D5 I didn't want to bother with running a thick cable all the way from
the front windshield to the rear, why should I ?
So I bought a single Viofo 4K for the front and a SHD single cam for the
rear that feeds of the usb in one of the cubbies. Works flawless.
From the UK I would not order in the EU. Don't know how customs
function post Brexit.
Find it all a pain, since I used to order lots from ebay.uk.

Bit late to the party, but I've got a Xaomi 70mai front and rear and it's spot on. Decent footage, easy to install and setup. Cheap as chips too.
The price fluctuates on Amazon so worth searching. Just a note, they don't do a front/rear linked setup. I just bought two of the same and then you can set them up in the same app and name them whatever you want. Only slightly annoying thing is the camera speaks when you first open the car. it says "Auto Mai starts recording".
It records as soon as power is applied when unlocking or opening the door, waking the disco up. It then records for 20mins (can change it in settings I believe) after power is removed. It has a built in battery.
For £36 quid each, they're amazing. I used a piggy back fuse for the front and then fitted a power socket behind the one in the boot for a discreet install.
Hope that helps.

Get front and REAR, we didnt have the rear dash cam I stalled when a driver hit the wifes car when she was in it parked got shunted down the road big time.
Old bill not interested couldnt prove if he was on his phone or not no footage but how do you hit a parked D3 on a straight road with no other traffic ???
He said a bee flew in his window and distracted him it wasnt until I pointed out to the law that all his windows were up and you dont close your windows after a 35 mph impact air bags going off and all the front end crumperling to nothing.
Oh said mr plod .....
The young drivers black box alerted the emergency services due the the nature of......35 mph to instant stop no brakes....didnt know they did that.
I also have cameras fitted to my motorbike and skid lid.
