D4 - adjusting tailgate catch (having to slam to latch)

My 2012 D4's tailgate upper takes a hard slam to get it to latch. I'm fine with it, but SWMBO keeps failing to shut it resulting in being unable to lock the car or having to stop and reclose it.

Any simple fix? I can't see any adjustments.

My D3’s upper tailgate did this, I put some grease on the latch mechanism ( that you can see), it’s been ok ever since. Worth a try. Thumbs Up
 D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

There are two 10mm nuts holding the latch in place that you can get to by removing the rubber surround - you can then tweak the position for a smooth close Thumbs Up

Tweaked using nuts but I actually think the latch is a bit sticky or worn. Have lubed it and I think it is marginally better..
