anyone know the size of the two front brake caliper bolts?
Heard a grinding noise from the fronts when braking, so got the wheel off today to inspect/ change the pads
To my horror I see the top bolt holding the piston section to the brake unit was missing and as it was only held on by the bottom bolt, it had moved away from the pads, so only a section of the piston was pushing on the pads
anyway, I obviously need to replace the bolt, I know its a 13mm head, but anyone know the correct size of the bolt so I can go check my local hardware store?
thanks
Simon

M16 x 1.5 is a fine pitch metric bolt. Do only use a brake caliper bolt, dont be tempted to find a bolt from a bolt shop, it won't have the correct tensile strength. Richard

If it's the 13mm head bolt it isn't the M16x1.5, as that is rather bigger!
If you have a local car parts place open many of the better brake pad boxes include the bolts.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Good old Brembo
I opened the box to find two new bolts in there. They are indeed M8
Thanks all - front 4 pads replaced and brake system now fully secured to the car
