Non starting Disco :-(

So I have a non starter..... Sad
Turn ignition on and dash lights up like a Christmas tree... every fault under the sun... hazards start flashing, gear selector says E (manual). Can hear fuel pump prime but starter dead.

Convinced it’s a Can bus fault, pics attached of codes and missing ecu’s iin ecu list!
Any heads up in where to start looking first?
Multiple suspension faults, is this the main culprit?

Cheers Rich

Sounds basic, but check your battery, Disco is very temperamental where the voltages are concerned, a dodgy battery will give you every fault light under the sun.

When my battery started to fail every fault light lit up, just before the entire dash going dark, including gauges dropping to their stops....while doing 60mph on a duel carriageway!

As above. Your battery is only showing 11.8 Volts (image 6)

I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate, it had a ctek on it in supply mode...
but it did have a new battery on it to no avail.

Throughts.

1. An ecu could be shorting out the CAN. You could unplug one ecu at a time, and see if the diag tool will talk to more stuff.

2. A large fuse under the bonnet could have blown, causing no power to ecu's ? (or ground fault)

3. It's probably the CJB or dash

Thanks Pete,

I believe the dash had already been out and sent off to be checked/repaired and is all good.

I will check the cjb and the plugs around it next.

Do you know if there is a list of all the ecu locations?

Cheers

If you bought it as a non runner i would bet that it has the wrong CJB fitted, seen this on a friends D3 that he bought as a pair of non runners.
Switched the correct parts for the vehicle and it started.

Id be surprised, if the guy I bought it off was telling the truth, but certainly wouldn't rule it out...
How would you know if it was the wrong one?
Cheers

So.... still have a non starting disco.... however, I have found the canbus fault!

Sneaky broken wire under the back rear near the big plugs...

All faults cleared, indicators stopped flashing... now let’s me spin the engine over...

However still doesn’t start 😂 I’m guessing fuel related from being sat so long...

But happy I’ve found the canbus fault...
