| Spare wheel winch difference? |

Folks,
Needing to buy a new winch, I got a £30 supposedly OE one from the bay that wouldn’t lift the weight so now wondering what to get? They all sound rubbish so don’t know if I should get another cheap one, a Britpart at £70/80 ish or a genuine at £120 ish, do you think they are any different anyway?

I've had to buy several, and they all appear to be the same cheap rubbish, no matter how much you pay for them.
One didn't take the weight as you have experienced, but looked identical to it's free replacement which did. And they didn't want the failed one back, which suggests they know it's a lottery.
I would have to be convinced that one which cost more than £50 had something better than cheap plastic internals inside.
In the end I bought one from a local supplier who I know would replace it if within a year it failed.
I think the fact that many of us will not use it after the first raise, is the reason they get away with selling utter rubbish.
