Fuel filter change

Anyone got an idea what my problem is?
Well folks have my car serviced twice per year every summer, then again xmas time. Car is one of the first D'3s 2004...
It's been a gem, same mechanic looked after it all the time. I trust him impeccably. However last three services, after changing the diesel filter, which I have changed every service. (I know its not required). However I have it done).
My mechanic has struggled to get the car to start!! scratching his head in disbelief!
Yes he primes the filter, yes genuine filters, No faults logged and starts on the button after initial Bleed problems. Brake lines replaced totally 3 years ago, along with brake fluid.

Any idea's to give me to relay guys?

Kevin-T.....

Turn the ignition on for 30 seconds and repeat and repeat

Press the bleed valve at the rear top of engine.

Once a year is plenty. Especially if it gives you this grief

Thanks Pete K.......

I have watched him do this procedure......"Turn the ignition on for 30 seconds and repeat and repeat

Press the bleed valve at the rear top of engine.".

There is still some underlying issue we/he can't fathom out!

Maybe low pressure pump is on its way out?

If you search disco3 forum there is a thread on how to test said pump with a mutlimeter.

I just fit my fuel filter, ign on until I can hear pump stop, then do it again, turn key and away she goes.

There is one of them pipes on top of the fuel filter that is a right barsteward when doing it on the floor.
I can recall something abiut it is possible to get the pipes mixed up causing issues?

One of the pipes on top if the filter has only got a small hole to reduce flow, If you get the two small pipes mixed up it will blow the leak off pipe at the injectors.
