What split charge? 2021

Hi all

Toying with the idea of sticking A split charge in mainly to run the work lights and ambers without worrying about not starting again.

Now there are so many out there. Car will be the D3.

Just few topics below this national Luna are mentioned and then there is traxide and even down to the cheaper ones you see which make use of the durite relay

Now I’m not too bothered about having a display in the car which seems to be the major benefit of a lot of these

I also see bits about matching the batteries which to be honest initially I’ll be using my current crank battery and get a new one for cranking

Are durite any good?

Thanks

Hi Jack

Ive just finish doing my setup, going for low cost and used one of these setups

Durite with another badge basically. Went in real easy, I have volt meters on both batteries and can see them both charging when the engines running, had no issues so far.

I got a used T max system and that's working well for me. I replaced the ashtray and fitted 2 volt meters so I can keep an eye on both batteries.

I use a durite smart charge relay, i works very well for my needs and is programmable to cut in and out at different voltages.

On a D4 with stop/start, is it possible to remove the small battery on the o/s and replace with a full size?
