Air suspension fault - C1A31 - Front Left corner valve
Hi all
Please can someone determine that the code i have refers to a the front air valve block on the suspension system?
I just replaced the passenger door latch [complete] following someones excellent post on how to......now i was hoping i could be pointed to the right place to see how to get and change the front valve block.
Alternatively can anyone recommend a good Indy in the SL4 area who i could pay to do this?
Thanks

Hi Narpy
Yes how spooky, I actually fixed it yesterday, myself. I have been researching the issue a lot and discovered that 90% of the time this fault code is related to the wiring in the near side inner arch.
I took a look yesterday and mine had the very same issue, a frayed black/green wire. I stripped it back and soldered it back together, re-insulated it and my issue has completely gone. All special programs and raise/lower selections are working like new.
Thanks for asking and a massive thanks to the threads of this forum for helping me out again.
Now I need to replace f/o/s wheel bearing and both lower suspension arms.........

Glad to hear it.
I have the same/similar problem. Have checked the front nearside wheel connectors and was amazed how good they looked. Wiring also seemed good, nothing obviously wrong.
I need to get the front bumper off to have a look at the front left corner valve as this is where the IID tool is telling me the problem lies. Mods:

surprising how many faults can occur , concerning the suspension system
being either the front passenger side wiring or the drivers side front valve block that causes issues , where worn out silica causes issues creating dust behind the seals
doesn't seem to be many reports regarding the rear wiring loom, the one near the passenger side rear wheel, the loom rubs against the chassis , happened to mine , the outer sleeving was worn away showing bare wires, luckily i was able to get to the wiring before the chassis started to cut through the wires
since only having mine for around 8 x months and never owned a discovery , learn something everyday
along with having to keep on top of repairs, learning that they can otherwise spit there dummy out, creating all sorts of dashboard light sequences

Hi Narpy
I was under the impression it was easier to change the valve block by taking the inner arch out (o/s) as the block sits on the internal face of the cross beam ?
However on another note I need to replace the rear parking sensors - how easy is the rear bumper removal?
Thanks

I need access to front left valve, that's near side surely?
I'd read on the forum it was very easy with the bumper off.
I've already had the nearside arch liner out and it was all very clean behind there. Gotta be honest, I wasn't looking for the valve more concerned looking for damaged wires. Mods:

Cheers for clearing that one up.
I will need to remove the arch liner then, that'll happen when the weather improves.

bless u for the rear bumper video, got to take mine off at some stage to replace the pdc loom
wasn't too bad replacing the front valve block, hardest bit was getting all the small plastic fixings out , quite a few broke though so bought some before hand , also finding out the small fixings once the wheel arch was removed ,
good luck and that u get on ok

Just returned a front sensor to the first link above, only worked for a short while done a click test it stopped clicking, bought a genuine Landrover sensor they ain’t cheap and no problems so far, the outer sensors are angled and the middle ones are straight on the front Andy

that's good to know, plugged it in and nothing , didn't get any clicking from it, maybe i should swap a few of them over to rule it out
the existing loom has a broken clip on one of the sensors and someone has tried to use some silicone
will be an ideal time to also get the rear metal bumper cleaned up and apply some dinotrol
