Underboost fault code - P0299-00 |
|
Just wondering if you can help. I’ve got a weird fault code that shows when you first fire up the D3 2005 HSE.
• P140A-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor C - circuit low
• P0299-00 (2F) Turbo/supercharger underboost
I assume the first one is OK, it’s been there for years – Lack of EGR!
If you clear the fault, I have an IID tool, it doesn’t come back till you restart the car. After a longer drive I checked the codes and these were showing:
• P029E-00 (2E) Cylinder 2 balance - fuel trim at maximum limit
• P140A-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor C - circuit low
• P029B-00 (2E) Cylinder 1 balance - fuel trim at minimum limit
Any ideas? The power is fine if the code is cleared. If you don't clear the code it feels like it is in limp home mode and is a bit smoky, not too bad.
I've checked for split hoses etc. 2005 D3 HSE 7 Seat

Do you hear an air whooshing noise when accelerating?
Try revving the engine with it in neutral - if there is an exhaust smell from the engine bay it could be the EGR pipes. Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

No smell or strange noises. I had a split hose last year so I know what you mean.
It has not been anywhere, the first time the fault appeared was after a failed start due to flat battery. Charged the battery up and fired up first time then the code appeared. 2005 D3 HSE 7 Seat
