Hi Ren,
Where are you intending to travel and do you need roof top tent or sleeping accommodation in the vehicle?

Wayne yes, will require sleeping accom for 2 in either rooftop or easy tent. Our routing would be to the north of Perth towards Carnavon, coast wise. Itinerary not finalized, we like to play each day as it comes.

I looked a hiring a 4x4 last August to do the Kimberley and most are Toyota Troopie or Land Cruiser.
The Troopie has accommodation inside the vehicle and the Land Cruiser has roof top tent. Alternative would be to get an off road camper trailer or if you are sticking to the main routes a campervan. Many of the roads at the top end may be closed due to wet season.
Have a look at www.ozhorizons.com.au for vehicle and for road conditions www.exploreoz.com
Dont know too much about the Perth market but have seen plenty of sargent vehicles around, and dont forget its a big country so dont stretch yourself as its not good driving between sunset and sunrise because of the number of animals on the road.
