Thermo test software not initialising. No data pin 2?
I have a webasto from a Freelander which works perfectly as a standalone heater when set up on the bench. But it will not communicate with the Webasto Thermo Test software, never completing initialisation despite buying a second set up.
The comm port is working, I'm connected to pin 2, have even set the latency down to 1 as recommended on another site.
Anyone have any other ideas that I could try? Thanks

Selected "Thermo Top C/Z Rover" from the device menu?
Have you got ground connected to pin 4 and 5 of your OBD adapter?
What OBD adapter do you have?06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Hi Martin, as simple as that, just had to select the Thermo Top C/Rover!
Does that mean I wouldn't be able to put this into a Peugeot as a direct replacement for a faulty unit? I'm still building my knowledge on these units and from what I can work out some manufacturers have their own configuration (either in hardware or software?).
Do you know if it's possible to reprogamme a unit for one car manufacturer to another? If not, I presume I can just swap the control boards.

Not as helpful as me though, eh
Especially as it's basically a copy of my kits, plus he's completely copied my instructions
Shame you spent the money on his kit not mine, but I end up doing the support. Hey ho.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

@rozzer...
May i ask if you have a Land Rover? As Discovery‘s do not have thermotop C‘s
Only TT V or and Evo
Regarding other questions.... no will not fit a peugeot
Software is car specific in this case... (as with all „zuheizer“ labeled webasto and eberspacher... units...)
Only a few will start on other motors (like the D3 ones) but then only limited... so no telestart option...
Stay away from branded units, unless you know what you are doing...Best regards

It's from a Freelander
And Martin: wish I'd discovered your site earlier. I have just ordered a few bits from you yesterday though.
Thanks for all the help and support both.

The Freelander TTC is pretty good as it'll run standalone from 12V on/off, without a car attached
Whether or not it'll replace a Peugeot unit depends on how the Peugeot is controlled.
But assuming (big assumptions coming up) the Peugeot controller still works AND is compatible with the Freelander TTC unit itself, this could be swapped onto the Freelander unit to make it talk Peugeot!06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Hi Martin
I've just taken delivery of my USB FBH unit. I've set it up as per the instructions and the software isn't recognising any that I select from the diagnostic page. Any ideas?

Follow this page from the "Drivers" section and into "Adapter Configuration" to get the COM port set up.

Hi Martin,
Nothing seems to be going right here - I've tried looking for COMS ports and it's not there on my PC.
I've downloaded all the drivers options and nothing. The blue wire has also just popped out as I was putting it away, I've tried all day with it.

The "USB Serial" device with the question mark shows the driver is not installed.

Hi Martin
I have done that and it won't open. How do I repair the blue wire? Should I just solder and click back in?
I am solely on Macs but I'm using an old laptop with Windows XP. The Webasto software has downloaded fine and the blue USB is lighting up with the red LED. I just cannot seem to get it link up with the COMS thing. It's not giving me that option.
