Altox - Heater Temperature indication

Hi All,

Have WBUS-5 GPS and Altox app on Android phone. Am using the Status function quite a lot at the mo (with the car getting so little use, to check battery voltage from a cosy armchair)

I've noticed that if I've not used Status for a while, I always get a whacky Heater Temperature reading first time, like 72 degrees C, even if the car's like an ice cube

Second, third, fourth time of asking for Status, I get sensible Heater Temps, like 3, 4, 5, deg C

Leave it a few hours, and the first Status gives me 70 odd degrees again!

Not just the app doing this, if I send SMS with STATUS, I get similar responses via SMS, first is crazy then subsequent values sensible

Anyone else seeing this? Indicator of real issue with the car?

TIA

Alan

Mine just the same, after the third reading it’s accurate, at least the battery voltage is because it agrees with my volt meter. It’s always been this way since I installed it.The first photo below is the first reading and the other is the third and accurate reading.

Harold, I don't have the sensor installed - don't think it was in the box but will try to find it and check.

Altox installed using cable from the forum shop and fitted in the rear so took the easy route !

If you don't have it or can't find it you need a LM335AZ to make up the sensor/lead. They are a few £.
Connect the V+ to pin 4 (green) and GND to pin3 (black) of the Altox
You don't need to connect the ADJ.
