Fuel burner heater intermittently kicking in
Hi guys new to forum this is my first post
My fbh wasn’t working from when I purchased my discovery 4 so took it to my local garage who works with land rovers who said it had tripped so wiped codes and was brilliant for about 6 trips, it’s -2c and it just stopped working again I have over half a tank of fuel never drop below this. I have to wait an hour for my partner in the countryside (career) so the other day stopped and started the engine a few times and finally kicked in! Anybody know why this would do this and how do I fix it? Also tried this again and now won’t kick in after stop start 6 times I’m frozen! Please help any advise welcome cheers

Are you talking about the FBH running with the engine, or with timed/remote heat?

So you’re saying it’s definitely not running whilst the engine is running? How are you checking this? And the car heating isn’t warming up, even with the engine running?

Heat just sitting just above the c for cold! And when it worked for the 6 trips heat raised while running the engine to half way on thermostat reading, also when it was running you could smell it a bit through the vents, Iv got the blower on half way and heat to high but it’s not freezing cold just not hot like it was for the first 6 times it worked.

If it’s not operating correctly, you will need to get the diagnostics hooked up and see what’s going on with it.
There are a set of requirements needed for it to fire up and operate etc, so maybe they haven’t all been met?

Unless I'm reading this wrong this sounds more like a sticking thermostat issue rather that a FBH issue?
