Tighten spring on front sun roof roller blind
Newbie posting, first post, be gentle!!
Just taken a 15 plate HSE disco 4. The front sun roof blind only retracts half way. If you take it further back the fabric goes saggy as the recoil has nothing left to give. Searched everywhere for fixing techniques but can’t find anything. I know I’ll have to drop the headlining but don’t want to remove sunroof. Once I have the blind off I can wind it up a bit more.
Any guidance?

Where have you taken it from? It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

He did say "play nice"
I don't think you'll have to remove the sunroof but certainly think the headlining will need to come out, I have a rattle at the front of my rear sunroof but I just can't get round to taking the headlining out, keep thinking some expanding foam in there should sort it !
Hope someone come along with more knowledge I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Fixed Roller Spring tension
Managed to fix it. Took a few pictures along the way so I'll post here if anyone is needing the solution.
First you have to free up the front section of the headliner to give some access space, no need to remove sunroof. Remove grab handles both sides front and rear. Remove A post cover both sides. Remove sun visors both sides. Peel back door rubbers (top half) on front doors and rear doors. There are two panel clips by front of sunroof and two around the second row internal lights. Gentle jiggle lowers front section of headliner giving 4 inches of space without putting too much strain on the rest of it.
Took me ages to work out how to get the roller out of the fixing points. Ended up just pulling on centre of roller and it bowed before jumping out drivers side. Looking at it out I could see the drivers side has a retractable pin. The passenger side has a crimped pin that slides in and out. In is free rotation and out is locked into place.
To get tension in the roller, roll it up the wrong way round fully, use pliers to hold the crimped pin in whilst you unravel the blind (I used fingers to begin with but easy to let it slip). When fully extended pull the crimped pin out which locks it in place. Rewind the blind the wrong way again and repeat the process. Then wind the blind up the correct way, engage the crimped end into the flat socket on passenger side, squeeze in the retractable pin and engage it into the round socket on drivers side. Pull out blind and engage into runners (at an angle).

Excellent that you got it sorted! Now if you can just identify my rattle I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Certainly, post a picture of the rattle and I’ll take a look
I'll have to look at this. The rear sunblind on our MY16 has the opposite problem & won't stay closed. Scares the outta me when it randomly snaps back!

My middle row blind does this. There is a technical bulletin for this LTB00084 Glass Roof Panel Blind Difficult to Latch – Repair Procedure
Trying to get this resolved myself as it's a bit annoying.
I've asked the dealers if the foam blocks can be sourced - I will then probably do it myself.

Best not to keep them closed that’s what causes “Gartbys” problem, crafty LR solution automatically closing It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
