| Rear door handle not working |

The near side rear door handle on my D3 seems to have given up the ghost. I pulled it to open the door last night and something went ‘ping’ and the door stayed shut but the handle stayed out.
The door locks and unlocks fine using the remote or interior switch, and can be opened from inside.
Does anyone know what I might need to replace without resorting to stripping it down before Christmas?

To get to the handle bits off you need to take out the door lock mechanism. Just check that you do not have the child lock switch in disable.
