| Water/condensation behind headlamp cover glass -anyone else? |

My right hand headlamp assembly has got a lot of condensation behind the outer glass cover. It looks bad as it looks all steamed up in front of the side-lights area. Has anyone else got this?
Shouldn't I expect water to saty out of this assembly?, or am I going to have a "they all do that, sir" conversation with my dealer?
Should I insist they sort it out, permanently?

I'm pretty sure that this is normail, and read it somewhere, for bi-xennon bulbs. Its something to do with the rapid heating and cooling and as such condensation occurs. It should go within minutes once the lights are on.
I maybe wrong on this one, but seem to remember this somewhere in the LR literature, perhaps in the workshop guides.
Please all shoot me down in flames if this is definately incorrect.

Switching on the headlights will clear it but I'm afraid it is a common problem. You don't notice it on most cars because of the lense design but with these clear glass ones it does stand out. If it's any comfort I get this regularly on my Porsche too  . If it's there all the time and doesn't go with the headlights on you may have built up a little resevoir of water in the unit. 2005 TDV6 SE Silver/Black Manual + Alpine

I've not seen this on my car yet but did notice a couple of times on cars at my dealer. In the pound and in the showroom.

When I got my brand new HSE from the dealer it had been indoors in +22
all day preparing for my arrivel! Se had been washed and groomed!
When I drove I "her" home for the first time in the norwegian winter (-12 celsius) I noticed the same when I got home.
The next day it was gone and I have seen it after driving from my work garage at 16+ into the winter outside at -21 (couple of weeks ago) Then I got the condens, but gone again the next morning!

Hi,
To say this is normal is a little bit incorrect. LR have issued a service note regarding this problem. IF you get condensation over the bulb areas then they may rectify.
On my car, I get condensation regularly when travelling at night, sometimes over the lower halogen light area, but not so far over the bi-Xenons. It is gone by morning. I personally think it is poor design on £350 option (adaptive headlights)

The water appeared around two weeks ago and has stayed ever since. It doesn't disappear and I've now got big blobs of water in front of the lower third of the headlight cover - over the sidelights.
I'll ask the dealer to sort it out next week and see what they say.
