Finally, my new to me D4 HSE Lux
Some of you may remember that I’ve been through some turbulent times earlier this year with my Discovery ownership.
But I’ve finally managed to sort out a replacement.
The deposit is down, and I'll pick it up during the week.
I really wanted a late spec(AdBlue) Blue HSE Lux with dark leather, and it’s taken some real effort to find one.
The only other thing I’d have liked is the external Black pack, but that’s easily sorted.
I already have the wing vents in Black, and a correct spec front grill that needs the horizontal bars painting black. I need to source some black Foglight bezels, but most of all need to do something about the wheels, I really don’t like them at the moment, they need to be Black.
The only other minus to the whole car is that the tyres will need changing soon, but I’d probably be putting different tyres on it anyway.
It’s absolutely immaculate, has a set of LR Rubber mats in it which look brand new with no wear, even the drivers one, and has a removeable towbar in a holder in the boot. I’ll be putting my Fixed towbar on it though.
And a positive in my eyes is that it's never been fitted with side steps, I just don't like them.
I’ll be adding some of my gear from the D3, and an Altox unit, plus a set of original spec mudflaps which it doesn't have for some reason.
I’ve now got the VIN number so can also register my IID BT ready to activate the timed climate.

Looks a cracker.
Can't wait to see it finished with Black Pack, think that colour would really suit it.
As you say, getting the black bits done yourself is easy enough.
I did my black pack, but left the fog light bezels with the silver ring as I felt it matched in well with the headlights.
I also left the door mirrors in body colour, I like them that way and it just wasn't worth the hassle in stripping to paint....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I missed out on the car below a few weeks ago, but it made my mind up that I'd go the Black Pack route, so this is what I'm aiming for, but might go with 5011 Black wheels instead.
