which fuel pump for aux. heater
Surprised by Diesel dripping nicely out of the heater exhaust, I need obviously a new fuel pump for the heater.
Which type do I need, looks I need the one with a fuel cut off valve ?
There are some "copies" available, any experience with those ?

Don’t know if it helps but did u know there’s a fuel line connector for the FBH tucked away, where the circle is , found that mine was also leaking and dropped down
Just a thought just in case it may be that, if it is, u have to prise the end covers off the coupling to push the ends in , one side is plastic pipe the other is metal , I used a tube cutter so didn’t get any fragments inside the fuel line

Hi,
in my case the heater was flooded and the fuel running out of the heater exhaust, when the vehicle
was parked in the garage
Looks like the shut off valve gave up.
As far as I understand, this valve is part of the pump?
I found that there are heaters which have the valve integrated, but the version
used in Disco 3 has the valve in the pump ?
The pump is defect anyway and needs to be changed.

Ah i see, was worth a shot
Posted part number and wondering if it would be cheaper from webasto them selves , as from LR it looks around £230

From what you’ve said your pump is unlikely to be at fault as it is supplying diesel which is it’s only job. It isn’t a pump which in the traditional sense of pumping through fuel continuously when a voltage is applied, it’s a “dosing pump” which supplies a slug of fuel through when the heater applies a voltage pulse.
Under normal operation the heater generates a certain number of pulses per minute to supply a certain amount of fuel.
More likely you have an issue with the heater itself with it not igniting the fuel that is being supplied.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

The heater was flooded, when vehicle parked in the garage
and all shut off. Fuel flow should be stopped by the pump, but there is fuel arriving at the heater, something wrong obviously.
The valve is part of the pump as I found out.
Question now: DP 40 or DP 41.

Martin is right...
There is no fuel flow if the pump is off... the pump sucks itself and has to suck first before it can pump....
It can only suck if it is running through the webasto sofware from the heater..
As the pump sits higher than the fuel level in the tank...and the heater unit even higher it is almost impossible that is “leaks” when the heater is off... the pump can only run if the heater tells it to run, and gives only that command when it is gone through the start up sequence ...
But if you like to spend your money on a pump, be my guest...
Dp41 is the right one..
I fitted hunderds of them, sold thousands....
I put my money on another part on/in your webasto heater...

I checked the pump with the WTT software,
it shows no faults but the pump is definitively not working.
If I take off the hose from the heater, ignition etc. off,
my heater has no extension to standheater function,
I have a constant fuel dripping out of the hose 🥴
These were the indications for me, that the pump gave
up and the plunger is potentially blocked in a position,
that the fuel line stays open.
Looks like there is a little bit bit of pressure in the tank...🙆
I blocked the fuel hose as intermediate solution.
