Body roll.
Hi guys. I have an 06 D3 205k. It feels like it's rolling in corners alot and very unsettled over bumps, the Mrs says if she's braking hard from high speed it feels like the car is weaving from the back end. Now all the wishbones were replaced and bushings 2 years ago but I've never done anything with the air suspension. Everything functions as it should but handling has clearly seen better days, if I change all the air struts are there any other parts of the air system I should consider giving attention to the might affect the 'stability'. It used to be quite a planted car for its size.
Cheers

Have you checked the anti roll bar drop links you may have a broken one.
Also what air struts did you use? I have heard that different makes give different ridesAndrew

Any thumping when going over bumps etc? Might just need an alignment, can make a big difference.

A good start is also just to check the tyre pressures, especially if you are running AT tyres.
Had a similar issue and it turned out to be a rear tyre with a slow puncture.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

What tyres are you running, and how worn are they?

Maybe you just need new dampers (shock absorbers) - get them tested.

I have the same. It’s a leaking airbag on the front on mine. Got the arrows above warning light after having to brake hard on a couple of twisty bits and big roundabout. It felt different and then after a few days, I noticed if on extended height and turn the engine off, I get a hiss front left. Initially subtle but getting more and more. Booked in for a look and change this week. I expect they suggest changing both sides. Love that the current ones still have the date and time on them...!!2007 Discovery 3 HSE Lugano Teal

I also previously had one tyre 15psi lower than the others - slow leak and that affected the handling but the traction control would come on mid corner with that. Suspect it may be an air leak like mine with the same mileage.2007 Discovery 3 HSE Lugano Teal

Drop links all seem good. They're as old as the wishbones.
I'm a tyre tech so tyres are good and alignment not long done, however the tyres are getting low on Tread (General AT) pirelli next. I'm thinking airstruts maybe but don't want to waste my money if I'm overlooking something else 🤔

When the suspension bolts are tightened it needs to be with the wishbones at there normal angle they would be at when theres a load on them. If you tighten them up when the wheels off the ground it can lead to poor handing.Andrew

Yes, I was aware of this, that is what I did when I replaced the arms.

At 15 years and over 200k the airstruts/shocks are well past their best.

A tyre tec with worn tyres??-worn tyres can affect handling as can inner steering rod joints. Is the tyre wear even?- always a good indicator of worn bushes, top rear tend to wear faster. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I have found tyres make a massive difference.
Pirellie Zeros last next to no time at all, they also go off pretty quickly
Pirelli ATR last longer, but they also go off quickly.
I think the D3 is a tyre killer as it places massive loads on them when cornering quickly.
