Pop Noise and then ESF on Dash

Hi All,

I have experienced this twice now, each time on a long run at motorway cruising, not hard acceleration.

I hear a pop type noise - sounded a bit like a tennis ball hitting a body panel, sounds like its under the bonnet. Then the ESF dash warning comes on.

Revs were steady at about 2,000rpm as I was cruising at 70mph. I could keep the speed going for quite a while but to accelerate normally I had to use the manual movement into Sport mode to get down to 4th gear otherwise it didn't seem to pick up at all.

No smoke or drama - just this.

IID tool reveals the following:(No other engine codes)

Engine TDV6
• P132B-21 (6C) Turbo/supercharger boost control A performance - General signal failure - signal amplitude<minimum

I've read about the Turbo Actuator but no one mentions this popping noise - it's almost like something pressurised has blown open and it's lost some sort of pressure? Have previously replaced the Turbo boost pipe as this was split (there were plumes of smoke behind for that one so easily identified)

Any ideas?
