D3 Bulb Kit

OK - todays numpty question, PLEASE chip in as I need help!

Looking for a decent bulb kit to carry in my 2007 D3 in case needed.
I've looked on Advanced Factors. These are the choices:

https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/bulb-kits-5978-c.asp

Question is, I have absolutely no clue which one to get. Never looked at the bulbs fitted but I think its safe to assume they are all standard i.e. not be upgraded or anything.

This is all I have to go on from the manual

I can't match the manual to the bulb kit descriptors so can anyone recommend which kit to go for. No worried too much on cost

Thanks in advance
Mick

is this for your own peace of mind or for driving abroad, where it's a legal requirement e.g. France ?

French rules now recognise that not all bulbs can be done easily and just ask for "likely" bulbs to be in the kit.

For my own piece of mind Dean

Just not sure which kit to go for and, if the bulbs in the kit are the the ones I need as per manual

Hope that makes sense

ok ... pragmatic approach:

if you have xenons .. spare is D2S. but you probably wouldn't change one (handbook may say dealer only ? )

if you have halogens, H7 is fitted in both the dipped and high beam positions so I'd carry 2 spares.
if you have xenon dipped beams, carry 1 H7 halogen spare for high beam.

cornering lamp ? would you be that bothered if not working ?
same with fogs.

side lamps are a PITA to change but as the car uses loads of W5W bulbs, a couple is a good idea.

S8 for front indicator.
P21s in 3 positions, so carry one of those.
P21/5. carry 1 of those.

vanity lamp? wouldn't bother with that either.

Cheers Dean, I do appreciate Kate your help.

My problem is, matching those bulbs that you recommended (from the manual) with the bulbs listed in the kits.

So I have attached 2 photos. One showing all the bulb kits listed as suitable for LR and then the other shows what’s in one of those kits (picked at random but because it has the H7 headlamp bulb)

You see my problem?

Margarine tub & the correct bulbs from eBay. Cheap as chips and not paying through the nose for a fancy kit. Thumbs Up

A H7 main & high beam, couple of stop/tail bulbs, a couple of W5Ws and a couple of indicator bulbs. Sorted. Thumbs Up

PS Mind you £5.44 isn’t too bad. Whistle

Yeah ... spotted the AF kits don't match bulb names in the handbook.

If you look on a bulb manufacturer's website you'll find a list that shows the different names of each type. I think Ring Automotive site has a poster showing the info.

DSL is right ... but a kit will keep things neater.

Are we letting DSL get away with that?

Hiding crap under piles of McDonald's wrappers does NOT equate to "neat"
