Battery change, hard reset

Just bought a D3.
So many first jobs to do.
Firstly first, change battery, last one in previous bills was 4 years ago and then 2nd hand so I don’t know where I am.
Starting ok but have a few faults up so by all accounts on here a good battery is needed.
Exide premium being the choice as less than £90 but has the biggest capacity.
Read somewhere on here to do a hard reset involving a cup of tea whilst the + and - battery connection are shorted. Never heard of this but never had a car with so much electrickery.

The most important thing to do when disconnecting the battery is to wait for the car to go to sleep.
Follow the instructions for a hard reset and you cant go wrong.
Normally you touch the two battery cables together to remove any residual power left in capacitors but leaving the battery disconnected for 20mins works just as well.
