Had a lovely marketing email from my neighbourhood LR dealer this morning offering me a confidential deal on part exchanging my D4 for an approved used LR.
So I emailed them back with the details, and the confidential deal looks like 'up to' £1000 deposit contribution with finance at ………. 10.9% apr
then to add insult to the confidential offer they offer a best part ex price for my D4 of £8200
politely declined and said no thanks we will leave it there.
Do they think we are all stupid these days or something ? 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

even buying new I wouldn't accept that part ex price from them, WBAC are offering £9800 (which I know they would beat down) but other free valuation sites are suggesting the same as WBAC give or take a couple of hundred.
I know its more down to cost to change but I still have finance that I need to pay off on the D4 so IMO the LR offer is a total joke, and their APR is just stupid.
Im not actually looking to get rid of the D4, I was just curious, plus ive not had the chance to enjoy it for what I bought it for which is quick camping trips away at weekends, and ive spent a fair bit this last year on maintenance and improvements. Its too good a car to part with easily 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

, land rovers way of alienating even more people. Word has got out about the lack of backup from the dealers so they really should be looking after existing customers better if they want to survive
A few years ago i was selling my (then) 5 year old range rover vogue se. I was told to try the main dealers as they were desperately looking for stock. Quite frankly the offer they gave was such a complete insult that i vowed i would never deal with them again. I was told it was a good offer and i wouldn't get a better offer . I went straight from there to a local prestige car dealer and was instantly offered almost £7000 more , he then proceeded to show me a car that the above dealership were listing for sale. Exact same model as mine but lower spec and with twice the mileage for £12k more than he offered for mine
I understand that they have to make a profit but in this particular case if i had gone for their ridiculous offer i recon they would have made over £20k profit, not to mention the profit on the car i was looking at buying!!
Since then i have bought probably 6 or 7 landrover vehicles which i would probably have bought from them if they hadn't royally p*ssed me of that particular day

couple that with the warranty reduced from 2 to 1 years on approved LR and there are far better deals at independants out there.
Yates Car Sales in Bristol (ive no connection with them) sell a ton of Freelander 2's and all come with a decent 2 year warranty included as standard. Their screen prices are decent too. 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Oddly they suggested an over generous offer on my 5yr old T5 Cali when I was looking at the new 90 recently. Passing comment / observation, but I didn't bite as its not up for grabs.
Their APR is plain dumb.
