OBD monitors

Hi all,

Has anybody fitted an ultragauge or scangauge to a D3.

Is it worth it? Are they useful?

Which is better ?

I like the idea of keeping an eye on things you can’t see from the dash, and if it can show codes then at least you have an idea what’s wrong if something happens.

As always thanks.

I fitted an Ultragauge when working through my fuel rail pressure problems, I wanted to have a live reading of the fuel rail in front of me because my fault codes showed "Low Fuel Rail Pressure" so I was able to observe the FR pressure while traveling. It didn't help in as much when the PCV valve triggers it it may set all the bells and whistles off without showing a low pressure on the Ultragauge but at any rate it helped as I then knew that there was acceptable pressure.

There is a lot of live information it will show as to the performance of the engine, I just have it set to show engine temp, RPM, Speed, FR pressure.

Would I buy one again? Probably not but at the time getting a live FR read was important to me.

By the way a new HPFP solved the problem.

Hope this helps
Cheers

I bought a IID tool for the D3 on first week of ownership, made the error of getting the none bluetooth version as I didn't know how much I would use it and the price - wish I had gone with the Bluetooth Embarassed

What I also have is a carista bluetooth OBD for the wife's car which also works on the disco just without the editing function and was only £10 which I can use with multiple OBD apps for monitoring while driving.
